Arts and Crafts
Artist Open Studio
Every Monday from 1 PM -3 PM, the center will host an open studio for artists. Bring your own project and get inspired by fellow artists. Mondays 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Donation, $1 member, $2 non-member
Charlene Somerville Sings to Us
On the 3rd Tuesday of every month soprano Charlene Sommerville sings two songs during our lunch. Requests are encouraged, leave a note for Kate and she will forward it to Charlene.
Quilting Club
A friendly group that meets to work on their own projects or help each other kick start new projects. Meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays 9:00 AM - Noon. Donation, $1 member, $2 non-member

Garden Club-Lilies of the Valley

Loaning Library - closed during relocation

Computer Lab - closed during relocation
Is now open for business! Stop by and see our five new machines with Windows 7 and Office 7 and high speed internet access. Look for classes to start in the fall. Leave a note for Kate if there is a particular topic you want to learn.

Re-In-Carnation Thrift Store
Our thrift store it at 31845 W Commercial, adjacent to the Senior Center. Store hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 am-4pm We accept donations at the alley door Mon., Wed., Fri. and Sat., 9:00am to noon. Chiropractic Treatments
Paul Lund D.C. a 25-year resident of Fall City
is offering Chiropractic treatments by appointment every Thursday here at the Center. Many of you know Dr. Lund as the former owner of Fall City Chiropractic where he practiced for many years.
Treatments are $25.03 or $35.70 depending on your specific needs. In general treatments are covered by Medicare but deductibles (traditionally $100 per year) and co-pays (usually 20%) will apply. If you have questions or concerns about payment you can go over your specific Medicare plan with Dr. Lund. REG
Please plan on your first appointment lasting one hour with follow-up appointments of 1/2 hour.

Whole Lotta Laughing Going On!
Wednesdays at the end of lunch, there is a lotta laughing going on thanks to our Caregiver Advocate Sally Friedman. In addition to providing resources and services to caregivers, she is a certified laughter yoga instructor. It all seems a bit silly, and it is, but the benefits are serious, from improved breathing to a heightened sense of well being.

Adult Day Program of Snoqualmie Valley
Our Adult Day Program provides structured therapeutic activities in a safe and enjoyable environment for seniors and other adults who are experiencing physical, mental, or social challenges.
The program operates Monday – Thursday from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Financial assistance and local door-to-door transportation may be available. Please call Kimberly McMartin, Program Coordinator, at 425-333-4152 or email kimberlym@seniorservices.org for more information.

Available daily 8:oo-4:30 pm with our “do it yourself” machines. Carnation EMT’s on the 1st Monday of every month before Enhance Fitness.

In Case of Emergency Cards
Want a free laminated card with all your emergency information for you wallet? Stop by the Center and pick up an ICE form at the desk. Fill it out and place in an envelope and give to the receptionist. Kate will print and laminate your information and mail it to your home! Takes about a month. $1 donation for members, $2 for non-members
Naturopathic Clinic
The clinic will be held in the portable just past the CBC offices at 32615 Northeast 45th Street, Carnation, WA 98014. It’s right off Entwistle street.
Bastyr University will have a licensed Naturopathic doctor and advanced students at the Center every Friday, offering General Care. This program is open to the whole community. Call 425-333-4152 for an appointment. Cost $5 for members, $8 non-members

Free Stuff
Every Monday Dave Presting delivers day-old bread and pastries donated by Orowheat bakery. We accept donations for Dave to offset the cost of his gas to bring us the bread. Every day Starbucks in Carnation donates their day old pastries to us. The pastries are kept on the tray on the lunch counter.
We often receive donations of puzzles, magazines or miscellaneous food items. These are placed on the “free table” on your right as you enter the main room. DI

Birthday Lunch
All members with a birthday this month are invited to a free lunch on the third Thursday at noon. We will even call and remind you! Free for birthday kids Cost $3 over 60 years old, $6 under 60
Lunch
Monday through Friday the Center serves a hot lunch at noon. Keep your eye peeled for our special holiday lunches and Chef Jennifer's “made from scratch” meals. We also can package the meals “to-go.” Reservations recommended but not required. Daily Monday through Friday at Noon. Cost $3 over 60 years old, $6 under 60
Meals On Wheels
40 menu selections for seniors needing pre-prepared meals for home use. Orders are taken on alternate Tuesdays for Friday delivery. They also offer discount pricing on Ensure and other supplements. Call Kate for more information. Suggested donation $3 per meal.
Steak Dinner - CHANGES!
Sadly we will not have a dinner in September. We will have our October dinner at Carnation Elementary School with a special menu. Watch your newsletter for more details.

Counseling at the Senior Center
Our 50-minute counseling sessions are private, confidential and affordable. Appointments may be scheduled on Fridays from 9 am to 4 pm (additional days are available with prior arrangement).
Counseling is provided by Kimberly McMartin, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology.

Alliance for People with Disabilities
MaryAnn DeFrees will be here to assist people with disabilities and their loved ones set and achieve goals. Drop-ins welcome. 2nd Friday of every month.

Caregiver Support Services
Are you finding yourself doing more and more around your home? Is your partner less able to do the things she or he used to do? Or are you shopping for groceries or doing laundry more often for your parent? Are you noticing your neighbor is not getting out as much and the yard is not as kept up and you are helping them more?
Sally Friedman, Caregiver Advocate, is available to listen, support you and offer suggestions on ways to help you as you care for a loved one. She can direct you to the appropriate agency or services, visit you at your home or on the phone to help prioritize needs, be an open heart to listen to how you are feeling. Sally will follow up to make sure you have gotten the help that you need.

Pet Food
This service is sponsored through the Humane Society of Bellevue. Monthly we receive dry dog and cat food. Some wet food is available but it is rare. We do not know when the food will be delivered but participants will have one week to pick up the food after we call them. To qualify all pets must be spayed and neutered and owners income less than $11,000 for an individual or $14,000 for a couple. Applications at the front desk. Donation, $1 member, $2 non-member

Veterans Assistance
Veterans’ Representative from WorkSource, Paul Sanchez, will be available to assist Veterans with return to work opportunities, job search/job placement assistance, and referral to Veteran Benefits (entitlements) at Hopelink, 31957 E. Commercial Street, Carnation, June 5th and 19th, 8:30 am to 1:00 pm Free

If you need a ride to medical appointments, shopping, or personal care it can be very confusing who to call so here are some guidelines.
- Sno-Valley Shuttle, 425-333-4009 or1-877-415-3632. Call the shuttle for free rides around the Snoqualmie Valley. 48 hours notice is preferable.
- Volunteer Transportation, 800-282-5815. Provides transportation to the Eastside and Seattle. Try to schedule your appointments to miss rush hour. Call one week ahead.
- Access, 800-201-8888. You must complete an application but once accepted you can get rides on a wheelchair accessible van. Limited to pickup and delivery within one mile of an established metro bus line.
